Funding requests are usually reviewed by the ECD Committee; however requests will now be reviewed by the Chief & Council upon completion of the required assessment. Due to funding limitations, requests are processed by date received.
Here's what to do:
- Schedule an appointment with the LDM Training Development Officer. Completion of intake forms will be done at this appointment along with an assessment to determine the need for the training/employment request.
- Submit a detailed request letter: including all detail that you are requesting from the LDM relating to your training /employment.
- Name of employer/training provider
- Start date, duration, cost of tuition, special equipment, quotations for equipment/material needed, childcare, travel assistance or other training expenses.
- Completion of Personal Training Research Kit (training) or SEA Research Kit (for Self-Employment Assistance).
- Completion of a Training/Work Plan for interventions involving employment.
- Additional documents needed: Letter of Acceptance (Training) or Letter of Offer (Employment) Resume, Photocopy of your SIN & Status Card.
Once all documentation has been completed by the individual & received in the LDM office, it is summarized into an Executive Summary which is then presented to the Chief & Council. Once a decision has been made an approval (or denial) letter is prepared and mailed to the individual.
Contracts are completed and must be signed before commencing employment positions.
All individuals applying to the program offered by the LDM must complete an assessment to determine the need for their training/employment request.
