Mobility & Relocation Assistance

Objective

Mobility and relocation assistance is designed to assist band members with financial support to attend job interviews and to re-locate for new employment.

Requesting Assistance

The individual must submit a written request to the Training Development Officer, which will include:

• The location of the interview or employment
• The date of the interview or start date of the employment
• The amount of the request
• The contact name or a copy of a letter to confirm the interview or employment start date
• A signed Consent to the Request and Release of Information form.

Approval Limits

The LDM will provide Mobility and Relocation assistance to a maximum of $1,000.00, per applicant within a one-year period from the date of application.

Approvals:
• The Training Development Officer has the authority to approve requests to the Committee at their monthly meetings.
• The Training Development Officer will report all approved Mobility and Relocation requests to the Committee at their monthly meetings.
• Normally, only employment prospects in Canada will be considered.

Approval Limits:
• Mobility Assistance for Interviews: May be funded to a maximum of $1,000.00 per year, per participant.
• Relocation Assistance: May be funded to a maximum of $1,000.00 per year, per participant.

Meal Rates

On the departure or arrival date, travelers must leave or arrive by the following times to claim meals:

Accommodations

1. Maximum allowable costs for accommodations must not exceed $140.00 per day, unless reimbursed by a sponsoring organization.
2. Receipts must be submitted.
