Objective

To provide direct service delivery from the point of intake to closure for all M’Chigeeng Frist Nation children and families and in accordance to By-Law 001/01 and Band Council Resolution 3347

Position Summary

  • Provide support and intervention services as needed with families
  • Referrals to agencies
  • Assist in the completion of the service plans with families to address child protection issues
  • Provide on-going assessment, case management, mediation, advocacy and counseling services for assigned individuals
  • Assist and respond to crisis situations
  • Provide transportation to families where necessary
  • Maintain clear, accurate and up to date reports related to all case assignments as well as maintain monthly statistics
  • Ensure compliance of M’Chigeeng First Nation personnel, finance and administration policies and procedures
  • Serve as a member on an inter-disciplinary team of professionals working with family groups where required
  • Actively participate in staff development/training where required and related to child welfare
  • Working knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act
  • Work in collaboration with the M’Chigeeng Band Representative and services on and off reserve
  • Availability for after hours and services where required
  • Provide educational resources and services in relation to Child and Family services
  • Initiate and work with families in family planning where needed
